Police Destroy Illegal Drugs Worth Rp 3.7 B

West Jakarta is the municipality most prone to drugs distribution in the capital city. Along January-April, West Jakarta Metro Resort Police Drugs Unit recorded have confiscated various drugs ingredients makers as well as 147 kilograms of marijuana, 2.19 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, 3,407 ecstasy pills, 745 happy five pills, and 200 lexotan pills which all worth around Rp 3.7 billion.

“All evidences have been destroyed to prevent them from being misused,” stated West Jakarta Metro Resort Police Drugs Unit Chief AKBP Gembong Yudha after the seized drugs destroying at West Jakarta Metro Resort Police office, Friday (5/9).

Moreover, Yudha told that in a month his party could arrest averagely 90 suspects who 30 percent of them are old players. That is why he suggested that the cells for drug abusers and drug dealers to be separated in the prison.

4 Months, 315 Drug Cases in Central Jakarta Uncovered

“We don’t see that the punishment for them is making them wary to repeat their actions. Therefore, we hope for the central government to make a program that could empower those in the prison as well as just got out of the prison to not repeat the same act. So, it’s not just taking action but also having solution and preventive ways. With that, drugs distribution can be decreased,” he uttered.
